The Concept
Out of Orbit is an indie coming-of-age film that follows Cosmo, a high school senior caught between the pressures of graduation and the uncertainty of their future. On a restless night, they sneak out for a walk, and go on a journey where the lines between reality and imagination blur. As they wander through the city, their thoughts drift into space, symbolizing their search for direction and self-discovery.
The Project
For this project, I designed and developed the film’s end credit sequence, capturing the dreamlike feel of Cosmo’s coming-of-age journey. Inspired by the film’s themes of dreams, and nostalgia, I created a visual language that feels like an extension of Cosmo’s own art diary. Using crayon-like doodles, textured notebook paper, and stamped typography, the sequence mirrors the raw, expressive quality of their sketches and notes. The moody color palette and hand-drawn elements evoke a sense of wonder, inviting viewers to linger in the film’s world even as the credits roll.
