The Problem
Moving out on your own is exciting, but figuring out how to cook for yourself is a struggle. Between deciding what to make, learning how to cook it, and dealing with random ingredients in your fridge, it’s easy to rely on takeout or let good food go to waste.
Our Solution
Enter Chef.e: an AI-powered kitchen companion that takes the guesswork out of cooking! Inspired by our own struggles int he kitchen, my team and I designed Chef.e to generate personalized recipes based on what you already have and what you actually like to eat. Chef.e also provides real-time, step-by-step videos to guide users through the cooking process, making homemade meals feel effortless. Our goal? To empower new cooks, reduce food waste, and help every cook feel at home in their own space.
As part of the Chef.e team, I took the lead in organizing user research to understand the real challenges young adults face in the kitchen. By gathering insights from our peers, we identified key pain points and tailored Chef.e’s features to provide the most helpful tools and resources. Beyond research, I led the branding efforts, establishing a cohesive visual identity through logo design, typography, color palettes, and carefully sourced illustrations. My goal was to create a brand that felt approachable, fun, and intuitive—one that truly resonated with new cooks and made the experience of learning to cook less intimidating and more engaging.
